Work With Kate Vazquez: How Faith-Based Functional Medicine Works, Step by Step
If you don’t feel like yourself anymore and your labs keep coming back “normal,” I want you to know you’re not alone. I’ve been there too.
I’m Kate Vazquez. Through Radiant by Design, I offer virtual functional medicine for women, grounded in a Christian worldview of health as stewardship. We look at the whole woman, her symptoms, story, lifestyle, labs, and the season of life she’s in, while leaving room for prayer, Scripture, and the wisdom of God. This page walks you through what working together looks like, one step at a time, so you can decide with peace whether it’s right for you.
Working with me begins with a Connection Call. If it feels like a good fit, I listen to your full health story, help you make sense of the patterns you’re noticing, recommend testing when it can meaningfully inform the next step, and create a personalized plan rooted in practical care and faithful stewardship.
A Christian Functional Medicine Practitioner Who Walks Alongside You
I work with women who are tired of chasing answers and still don’t feel like themselves. Many are moms. Many have been told their labs are “normal” while they continue to experience symptoms. As a Christian functional medicine practitioner for women, I look beyond a single symptom or lab value and listen to the whole story. My faith isn’t an add-on to the work. It shapes how I see you, how I care for you, and how I understand health.
Here is how I walk alongside you:
- Be seen. Before we look at symptoms or labs, we slow down. I listen to your story, because you are more than a collection of symptoms.
- Understand. We connect the dots between what you’re experiencing, your daily life, your stress, sleep, nutrition, relationships, labs, and the season you’re in.
- Steward. We look for practical, sustainable ways to care for the body God entrusted to you through food, sleep, movement, nourishment, and support that fits your real life.
- Abide. This isn’t about striving harder or trying to control your body. It’s about learning to surrender, listen, and remain rooted in Christ while taking faithful steps.
- Radiate. As you become more rooted in God’s truth and learn to care for yourself with wisdom and grace, that inward work can begin to shape how you live, love, and show up in the world.
Is This the Right Fit for You?
Working together may be a fit if you…
- Wake up exhausted, even after a full night of sleep
- Have cycles that feel unpredictable, hard PMS, or low libido
- Are walking through postpartum or perimenopause changes and don’t feel like yourself
- Deal with bloating, or a gut that seems to react to everything
- Notice your skin flaring and can’t figure out why
- Feel wired but tired, anxious, or overwhelmed most days
- Have been told “your labs are normal,” but you know something is off
- Want your faith to be part of your care, not left at the door
It’s probably not the right fit if you…
- Need urgent or emergency care
- Want a quick supplement and nothing more
- Want to stop a medication without the doctor who manages it
- Are looking for someone to manage a health condition or your medications
- Aren’t ready to make gentle, steady changes over time
- Are looking for in-person visits. All of my care is virtual.

How It Works, Step by Step
Step 1: Book a Connection Call
The Connection Call is free. It’s a 30-minute video call with no application first. We’ll talk through your story, what you’re hoping for, and what you may need. I’ll explain how I work, answer your questions, and we’ll decide together if it’s a good fit. There’s no pressure. If I don’t believe I’m the right person to help, I’ll tell you honestly.
Step 2: Share Your Story
Before your first visit, you’ll complete intake forms in the secure Practice Better portal and upload any recent labs you’d like me to review. Take your time. Your story matters, and the details can help us see the bigger picture.
Step 3: Your First Full Visit
We’ll slow down and go deeper into your symptoms, cycles, digestion, stress, sleep, food, relationships, and faith. Your body has a story, and I want to understand it—not just chase the loudest symptom.
Step 4: Labs, Only When They Help
Sometimes the labs you already have give us enough information to begin. When additional testing could meaningfully change the plan, I may suggest conventional blood work, functional testing, or both. I’ll explain why I’m recommending a test and what it can and can’t tell us. You should never feel like you need to order every test simply because it’s available.
Labs are a separate cost and are not included in my care.
Step 5: Your Personalized Plan
Once we’ve considered your story, symptoms, and available labs together, you’ll receive a personalized plan. Depending on what makes sense for you, this may include nutrition, sleep, movement, targeted supplements, nervous system support, and faith practices. The goal isn’t to give you another long list to follow. It’s to help you know what matters most right now and take steady, doable steps.
Step 6: Follow-Up and Support
We’ll continue meeting as needed so we can learn from how your body responds and adjust your plan over time. The frequency of visits and any between-visit support will depend on your needs, and we’ll talk through what that looks like on your Connection Call.
What’s Included
Because every woman’s needs are different, the details of care can change. I’ll walk you through exactly what’s included before you commit. In general, working together includes:
- A free Connection Call
- Practice Better, my secure client portal, for intake forms and lab uploads
- A full look at your health story
- Lab review when labs are part of your plan
- A personalized plan for lifestyle, supplements, and faith, when appropriate and desired
- Follow-up visits so we can adjust as your body responds
What’s billed separately
- Lab tests
- Supplements, if they’re part of your plan
Virtual Care: Where I Can Work With You
All of my 1:1 care is virtual. Every visit happens by video, from the Connection Call to your first full visit and follow-ups. Practice Better is my secure client portal, and I keep my schedule in Eastern Time.
I work virtually with women throughout the U.S. and internationally. My work focuses on lifestyle, supplement, and faith-integrated guidance alongside the care you receive from your own doctors.
If what you need is outside what I offer, I’ll tell you honestly. My goal is never to be everything to you; it’s to help you take the right next step.
Faith-Based Functional Medicine: Does Faith Have to Be Part of My Care?
My faith in Jesus Christ is the foundation of how I care for you. I believe God created your body with intention and that caring for it is an act of stewardship, not a pursuit of perfection. That belief shapes how I listen, how I build a plan, and how I hold your story.
If you’re a Christian, we can intentionally bring prayer and Scripture into our work when you want to. We’ll focus on surrender over striving, wisdom over fear, and faithful steps rather than trying to control every outcome. You can read more about faith-based functional medicine for women and a biblical approach to health.
Do I have to be a Christian to work with you?
No. My faith is central to how I practice, but women of any background are welcome. I will never impose prayer or Scripture on you. If you’d like those to be part of our time together, I’ll gladly make space for them.
Is functional medicine compatible with my faith?
The way I practice functional medicine is grounded in physiology, nutrition, lifestyle, and a whole-person view of health. I do not practice energy work, New Age spirituality, or anything outside that framework. My faith in Christ is not something I separate from my work; it is the foundation from which I care for you. If you’re still praying through this question, I wrote more about it here: is functional medicine biblical?
Your Investment
Working together is an investment of time, money, and heart. My hope is not simply that you leave with a list of things to do. I want you to understand your body more clearly, feel more equipped to steward it, and grow in wisdom and peace as you move forward.
- Connection Call: free
- Working together: I’ll share current pricing on your Connection Call, before you commit to anything
- Labs: billed separately
- Supplements: an added cost, separate from working together, if they’re part of your plan
“While functional medicine is an investment upfront, it pays dividends for a lifetime… It’s 1000% worth it.” – Katherine R.

Meet Kate Vazquez, Your Faith-Based Functional Medicine Practitioner
I’m Kate Vazquez, a wife, a mom, a PA-C by training, and an IFM-trained functional medicine practitioner. My training began in conventional medicine, and over time I felt called to create a different kind of space for women: one where we could look more deeply at the patterns behind how they feel while also honoring the spiritual dimension of who God created them to be.
For years, I was the woman searching for answers. I lived with migraines, digestive issues, acne, anxiety, and hormonal symptoms, and I wanted more than another isolated solution. Functional medicine helped me understand how connected the body can be. But God gently showed me that my story was about more than my body. My deepest healing has also involved learning to surrender, listen, and trust Him.
I don’t have it all figured out, and I don’t pretend to. I simply know what it feels like to be searching, and I know how meaningful it can be to have someone walk beside you with compassion, wisdom, and hope.
That’s the kind of care I want to offer every woman who comes to me.

Frequently Asked Questions
Last updated: October 8, 2026
What happens on the Connection Call?
The Connection Call is a free, 30-minute, no-pressure video call where we talk through your health story and what you’re hoping for. I’ll explain how I work, answer your questions, and we’ll decide together whether working together is a good fit.
Do you work virtually, and where can you see clients?
Yes. All of my 1:1 work is virtual. Every visit happens by video, and forms and lab uploads go through Practice Better, my secure client portal. I work with women throughout the U.S. and internationally, offering lifestyle, supplement, and faith-integrated guidance alongside the care they receive from their own doctors.
What is a Christian functional medicine practitioner?
For me, Christian functional medicine means looking at the whole person—your history, symptoms, lifestyle, nutrition, labs, and season of life—while allowing faith in Jesus Christ to shape how that care is given. It means caring for health as stewardship rather than striving for perfection, and making room for prayer and Scripture when you want them.
Do I have to be a Christian to work with you?
No. My faith is central to how I practice, but women of any background are welcome. I won’t impose prayer or Scripture, and I will only bring them into our work if you’d like me to.
How much does it cost to work with you?
The Connection Call is free. I’ll share current pricing and what is included on your Connection Call, before you commit to anything. Lab tests and supplements are separate costs when they are recommended.
Is functional medicine covered by insurance, and can I use my HSA or FSA?
Radiant by Design is a cash-based practice and doesn’t bill insurance directly. I don’t provide superbills. I can accept HSA and FSA cards, but coverage and eligibility vary, so please check with your plan administrator before paying.
Do I need functional lab tests like the DUTCH or GI-MAP?
Not always. I don’t believe more testing is automatically better. If testing is recommended, I’ll explain why I think the result could be useful, what it can and can’t show, and how it could change the plan. Sometimes the labs you already have are enough to get started.
How long does it take to feel a difference?
There isn’t one timeline that applies to every woman. Some people notice changes in things like energy, digestion, sleep, or cycle symptoms relatively early, while deeper changes can take time and consistency. We’ll talk about realistic expectations based on your story and what we’re working on.
Can I keep seeing my doctor and taking my medications?
Absolutely. I work alongside your primary care provider and other doctors. I do not ask you to stop, start, or change a medication that another clinician manages. Those decisions stay with the clinician who prescribed it.
Can you be my primary care provider?
No. I don’t provide primary, urgent, or emergency care. Please maintain your own primary care provider. My work is focused on lifestyle, supplement, and faith-integrated guidance that complements the medical care you receive from your doctors.
Ready to Take the Next Step?
You don’t have to figure this out alone. If something in your heart is stirring as you read this, let’s talk. We’ll take it one step at a time, without pressure to have everything figured out before you begin.
Radiant by Design is not for emergencies or urgent medical needs. If you are having a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. Working with Kate does not replace care from your primary care provider.
